Bilingual Pharmacy Cashier

SUMMARY: Provide quality and cost-effective primary care services to patient population, meeting their diverse health and social needs, under the supervision of a physician. The Chautauqua Center (TCC) expects all employees to respond and participate to emergency situation per emergency policies and procedures.

Job Description/Duties:

– Distribute medications to patients at pharmacy pick-up registser

– Documentation of all distributions within QS/1 Pharmacy System

– Take refill requests from patients

– Take payments from patients and post payments to patient accounts

– Communicating patient needs to pharmacist or medical provider

– Communicating with patients

– Coordinating home delivery and preparing items for home delivery

– Maintain will-call prescription bin

– Make reminder calls to patients who have aging will-call items

– Maintains contact with other departments, medical staff, and nursing staff to determine needs, resolve problems

– Adhere to all guidelines set forth in the pharmacy policies

– Adheres to standard procedures at The Chautauqua Center

– Attend meetings as directed

– Availability to work variable hours including evening or Saturdays as needed

– Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

– Must be organized and able to work independently under direction of Pharmacy Director.

– Must exhibit a high degree of professional excellence, initiative, and a high standard of ethics.

– Must be physically able to stand for a long period of time and lift moderate weights.

– Pharmacy technician experience is preferred

– Exceptional networking and negotiations skills

– Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

– Fluency in Spanish/English highly desirable

– Ability to utilize sound judgment and independent thinking

– Excellent verbal and written communication skills

– Maintain confidentiality and comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)

– Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships

– Maintain project plans with high-level of accuracy in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and pharmacy software systems

Full Time Clinical Psychologist

Description: A Clinical Psychologist, or Licensed Clinical Psychologist, is responsible for using psychological treatment options to help those with mental health disorders. Their duties include meeting with patients to discuss their concerns about their mental health, assessing their symptoms to diagnose their condition and applying scientific treatment methods to help their patients cope with or overcome their mental health conditions.

Psychologist Duties and Responsibilities:

-Diagnose and treat emotional, mental and behavioral disorders

-Assess patients and provide recommendations for treatments

-Use literature, research and translate complex concepts and use them to treat patients

-Provide patients with referrals to other therapists, clinics or facilities as needed

-Participate in off-hours call rotation

-Conduct case management tasks

-Conduct administrative tasks

Psychologists Skills and Qualifications:

-Ph.D. in Psychology or a Doctor of Psychology degree

-Patience, especially when working with challenging patients or those who may be resistant to treatment

-Interpersonal skills, including being able to relate to their patients in order to help them

-Empathy to identify with patients’ experiences to help them understand what is causing them to feel a certain way

-Trustworthiness to keep information confidential, as patients will tell the psychologist their most private thoughts and secrets

-Communication skills and the ability to know when to talk and when to listen to create a safe environment for the patients

-Critical thinking to help the psychologist make an accurate diagnosis to recommend proper treatment

Full Time Registered Nurse

Description: Registered Nurse

Purpose: The R.N. will promote and restore patient’s health as they provide, delegate, evaluate and coordinate comprehensive professional nursing care through the use of the nursing process for patients of all ages, gender, cultures, and background; provide physical and psycho-social support to patients, friends, and families. This individual may oversee clinical care of other personnel including LPN’s and MA’s.

Job Duties:

  • Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements
  • Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families
  • Promotes patient’s independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patient, friends, and family to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions
  • Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments; following standards of care set by state board of nursing, state nurse practice act, and other governing agency regulations
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations
  • Documents patient care services by charting in patient record
  • Maintains continuity by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
  • Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential
  • Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques
  • Maintains nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies
  • Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport
  • Assess, plan, direct and evaluate total nursing care in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures of TCC
  • Provides case management by being a patient advocate, resource and contact person for patients
  • Performs assessment data collection and documents subjective data (chief complaint and allergies) and objective data (vital signs/weight/etc.). Reviews basic health history information for patients; focusing on environmental, self-care and clinic discharge planning
  • Administers medications and intravenous solutions skillfully and correctly, and performs lab/diagnostic testing as ordered by provider and reports all critical lab values immediately
  • Anticipates and prepares examination room with equipment and supplies required for the visit. Assists provider with examination and procedures per request
  • Participates in Quality Improvement activities, including the QPIC Committee
  • Participates in training, orientation, competency assessment and education of new employees
  • Communicates clearly, concisely and accurately
  • Serves as a resource person to other staff
  • Acts in a professional manner, reflecting the mission of TCC and demonstrates compliance with all policy, procedures and federal/state regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education/Skills/Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited program for registered nursing
  • Current RN license or must have taken state boards within 2 months after graduation. If has failed exam, must take the next exam on the first available date
  • Current CPR certification
  • One year ambulatory or public health experience is preferred
  • Strong assessment skills required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required
  • Leadership and organizational skills essential
  • Bilingual especially in Spanish is preferred
  • Computer literate preferred
  • Knowledge of medical office practices, procedures and equipment
  • Knowledge of problem-oriented record keeping
  • Correct English usage, spelling and grammar
  • Skilled nursing care and follow-up with thorough documentation
  • Knowledge of community resources

Professional Interpreter

Description: Interpreters facilitate communication between parties who speak two different languages. They do this by interpreting, translating and re-communicating both verbal and written messages from one language into another.

Job Responsibilities

  • Translate messages, live speeches, and documents into another language, with careful attention to providing proper context, meaning, tone and technical wording
  • Honor outlined ethical codes to ensure sensitive and confidential information remains secure and protected
  • Identify terms and words with conflicting meanings to determine which alternative provides clarity and reflects the original purpose of the message
  • Verify, modify and edit translations to compensate for discrepancies in technical terms and to guarantee that the final content is consistent with original material
  • Consult dictionaries, encyclopedias and terminology compilations to remain educated and current with the meaning of medical words and phrases
  • Interact with clients and visitors to translate foreign language and facilitate communication in a range of different professional settings
  • Translate both spoken word and written texts to the target language with superior accuracy, consistency and efficiency
  • Communicate in a friendly, positive manner and always engage in active listening techniques to maximize effectiveness of interpretation
  • Lead conversations between multilingual groups to communicate important ideas and mitigate the effects of a language barrier

Job Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in communications or related field and/or 1 year experience in healthcare field
  • Proficiency in the English and Spanish language
  • Written and verbal fluency in both English and Spanish language
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of written and oral communication
